Emmanuel Osinem is a distinguished professor with a PhD in Vocational Agricultural Education, holding a position as a Professor of Agricultural Education & Training at the University of Nigeria, Nsukka (UNN). With over 25 years of experience in university-level teaching, research, and administration, he has significantly contributed to the field of vocational and technical education (VTE), particularly in agriculture.

His career at UNN includes a tenure as the Dean of the Faculty of Vocational & Technical Education and his role as the Human Capital Development Officer of the Business Development Centre (BDC) UNN, funded by the African Development Bank. Osinem has also served as the Coordinator of the UNESCO-UNEVOC center at UNN and as the Founder/Coordinator of the Innovations in TVET Research/Project Group, which is currently implementing a significant project with funding of 46.2 million NGN from TETFUND.

Osinem has supervised a large number of undergraduate, master’s, and doctoral theses, contributing to the advancement of knowledge through his research, which he has published extensively in scholarly journals both within and outside Nigeria. He has authored and co-authored several books and has a track record of successfully conducting local and international research projects.

His professional engagement extends beyond academia; he has consulted for UNESCO on digital transformation of TVET systems, skills development, and has worked on various UNESCO projects including the development of the UNESCO TVET Strategy 2016-2021 and the Building Innovation and Learning in TVET (BILT) Project.

On the international stage, Osinem is the UNN Coordinator for three Erasmus plus projects and was previously involved in the coordination of several Erasmus Mundus Academic Mobility Projects. He has also represented the University of Nigeria in international projects like the Tuning Africa Project under the Joint Africa-EU Partnership Strategy and has led partnership initiatives such as the Smart Farming Media project.

His academic leadership roles include being the Pioneer Head of Department of Agricultural and Bioresources Education, and Coordinator of training modules development for various projects. He has also been part of high-level delegations to negotiate partnerships with World Class Centres of Excellence in China and other international institutions.

Osinem’s areas of research interest include program and instructional development in agriculture, research and development in vocational and technical education, and innovative approaches to project management and quality assurance in the TVET sector.

His expertise and contributions have been recognized with various roles and honors, making him a prominent figure in Vocational Technical Education, particularly within the agricultural domain.
